Secondary Curriculum

As an all-through school, we focus sharply on developing students’ subject-specific knowledge and skills across all the phases. As our students move into the Secondary phase at SRS, they start to access subject specialists in every area of their learning. We ensure that we actively engage our students in independent study, cross-curricular development and effective collaboration with one another, to help them reach their true potential in an enjoyable and inspirational way.

Key Stage 3

During Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) students continue to develop the skills and knowledge needed for the 21st Century. Students follow the British National Curriculum, as well as enjoying high quality provision in Arabic and Islamic Studies. We ensure that the curriculum is coherent and well-sequenced so that all students are well supported and appropriately challenged.

Key Stage 4

Year 10, the beginning of Key Stage 4, marks the start of a challenging and stimulating two year GCSE journey for many of our students, transitioning seamlessly from Year 9.

In Key Stage 4, the IGCSE curriculum is introduced to provide the support and challenge needed for students from a range of prior attainment levels. A range of subjects, catering for a variety of academic needs and interest, are offered.
